Book review: 365 Days of Wonder

365 Days of Wonder: Mr. Browne's Book of Precepts365 Days of Wonder: Mr. Browne’s Book of Precepts by R.J. Palacio

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

R.J. Palacio’s novel Wonder is one of those books that stay with you forever. It is on my list of books that every child should read or have read to them. This little companion book is a lovely collection of precepts – one for every day of the year. A precept is a maxim of great weight. If you have read Wonder then you’ll know that Mr Browne, August’s teacher, believes words can be very powerful and he challenges his students to collect and share precepts. This book shares some very beautiful precepts.

The book is also peppered with anecdotes from Mr Browne which are nice little “asides” and also share insight into life.

This book is not a novel and should be taken for what it is, a little book of inspiration and happiness. Like Wonder, it’s just beautiful.
